the vibrant world of motion graphics education in Bangladesh, few names carry as much influence and respect as Debashis Das. Since 2018, this acclaimed designer and visual storyteller has been nurturing creative minds as a faculty member at Pathshala South Asian Media Institute and a guest lecturer at Dhaka University. With a career that blends industry excellence and academic mentorship, Debashis has emerged as a guiding force behind a new generation of motion designers who are now shaping the country’s visual identity across television, digital media, and advertising platforms.

At Pathshala South Asian Media Institute, Debashis Das co-directs the flagship six-month Motion Graphics course, a program that has become a benchmark for professional design education in Bangladesh. Held at DrikPath Bhaban, 16 Sukrabad, Panthapath, Dhaka 1207, the course offers both foundational and advanced training to aspiring creatives. Classes are split across multiple schedules to accommodate working professionals.

Students enrolling in the program enjoy access to a fully equipped editing lab, a digital library, and screening opportunities to showcase their final projects. The curriculum begins with the basics of graphic design and animation principles, then dives deep into motion graphics using professional tools like Adobe After Effects and Cinema 4D. The course culminates in a final project that challenges students to bring together design, storytelling, and branding into one cohesive animated piece—skills that Debashis Das has mastered in his own career and passes on to each batch with precision.

Debashis’s teaching philosophy goes beyond simply showing students how to use software. He encourages them to think like storytellers, brand strategists, and problem-solvers. His sessions often explore the psychology behind visual choices, the emotional weight of color palettes, and the rhythm of motion that brings stories to life. Whether it’s teaching the principles of kinetic typography or orchestrating 3D environments in Cinema 4D, Debashis focuses on design thinking—a vital skill that differentiates good motion designers from great ones.

Alongside his work at Pathshala, Debashis serves as a guest faculty member at Dhaka University’s Department of Television, Film & Photography, where he leads special workshops and academic sessions. His presence in these institutions has added immense value to the academic community, bringing real-world industry knowledge into the classroom. Students often describe his classes as eye-opening, not just for their technical depth but for the creative mindset they cultivate.

With a career spanning more than 15 years, Debashis Das currently holds the position of Deputy Manager of Graphics at Maasranga Television, one of Bangladesh’s leading HD broadcasters. His work has earned him national and international recognition, including the Bongo Gourab Samman (International), South Asia Star Award, and Excellence in Success Award. Now, through education, he is passing on that legacy.

Aspiring motion graphics artists who wish to learn directly from Debashis Das can apply for upcoming batches of the Motion Graphics course at Pathshala. For more information, interested students can email office.dft@pathshalainstitute.edu.bd, or visit facebook.com/PathshalaFilmandTelevision.

Learning from a mentor like Debashis is not just about mastering tools—it’s about discovering how to tell powerful visual stories that leave lasting impressions. Whether you’re a beginner dreaming of animation or a professional looking to sharpen your branding skills, this course offers the rare chance to be guided by one of Bangladesh’s most respected creative minds.
