Why are we building the new Masjid? Usmania masjid has been serving the community for many years and as the Muslim community continues to grow, it requires expansion and upgradation. New building will have increased capacity, purpose built classrooms, better washing and ablution area, kitchen and disabled access are some of the main features which will benefit us all and will serve the generations to come.
Early 2020 - Old Building
It began in early 2020 with the demolition of existing Usmania Masjid & Education Centre building. The next job was 66 pile foundation, which completed with concrete foundations.
Nov 2020 - New Structure
The erection of Steel framing system started on our new site and by early 2021, Gas membrane and steel mesh rebar we put in place. In February, we had laid concrete flooring. Brick wall started to go up in April, followed by concreting of first floor of the new building.
May 2022 - Roof
In May, 2022, phase II for our new building started with the work to install the roof. By Jul, 2022, new curtain walling was already in place which gave the tangible feeling of our new masjid. In Nov, 2022, roof was completed and by the end of 2022, we had the beautiful golden Dome installed.
What's next ?
Alhamdulillah, with you support and donations we were able to come this far. We are currently raising funds for the next phase of the development, which includes windows, all internal fit outs (flooring, electrics, plumbing, plastering, wash facilities, heating/ air conditioning etc.) and with your help and support, we are confident that we will be able to achieve that in a sustainable way - insha'Allah.
